One of the questions most often asked when a fan buys a ticket for an Soap Opera event is, "Where does the money go?" Few people realize how expensive it is to host an event for a huge group of people. The majority of any ticket price usually goes for the cost of the event production , but what of the rest? Most of our General Hospital actors have special causes that are dear to their hearts and usually, a percentage of money from ticket sales is donated directly to those charities. Some actors are very direct and vocal about their endorsement of their favorite cause, while others are more discreet about their support of specific organizations. The Official General Hospital Fan Club feels it is important to honor the generous spirits of the GH stars who give so freely to these worthy causes. Listed Below, you will find some of the charities supported by the GH actors. If you feel like giving a little or giving a lot, Donations to these charities can be made at anytime throughout the year, by clicking on the link. I think we all choose a charity that has touched our lives in one way or another. I have three charities that are near and dear to me. A percentage of the proceeds from our annual event is donated to the following charities. Alzheimer's Association - My mother and father both passed away from complications related to this disease. http://www.alz.org/Donate/DonateOL.asp The Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation - My sister Beth is a Survivor of Breast Cancer. She was diagnosed in May 2000, and today I am happy to report she is 6 years cancer free. http://www.komen.org/don

The following organization is a special one since this is the place Leslie learned to ride. The New Canaan Mounted Troop is in desperate need for renovations. This is were the money from her Ebay auctions and the luncheon were donated to this year. Donations can now be made on line by clicking the link below. The Leslie Charleson Fan Club will also be sending another donation toward the end of the year; if donations want to be made, they can be sent via PayPal to the fan club and they will be more than glad to pass on the donations. New Canaan Mounted Troop Rick Hearst aka Ric Lansing's charity of choice is: Healing Arts Reaching Kids. There is not a current on-line link for this program. If you go on the CHLA site to donate, it will not go to the program that he supports. The only way to make sure your donations are distributed to the correct program is good old snail mail.
